Healthcare Assistant

**Job Summary**
GeorgiaGov is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at West Central Georgia Regional Hospital. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support services to individuals in our care.
**Key Responsibilities**
• Provide training and education to individuals in various areas, including life skills, health and wellness, and personal development.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in individual and unit records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Observe and maintain awareness of individuals' behavior and physical whereabouts to ensure their safety and security.
• Transport and accompany individuals to appointments, activities, and off-campus visits, promoting socialization and community integration.
• Participate in maintaining a safe, secure, clean, and attractive environment for individuals, visitors, and staff, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist other staff members in admitting and orienting new individuals to units, ensuring a smooth transition and minimizing disruption.
• Conduct recreational and social activities to promote engagement and enjoyment among individuals.
• Provide physical assistance to individuals, including walking, exercising, and mobility support.
• Assist with medication administration, lab draws, and collection of bodily fluid specimens, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
• Conduct regular environment rounds to identify and address any safety or security concerns.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Engage in crisis de-escalation techniques to promote calm and resolve conflicts.
• Serve on hospital-wide committees to contribute to policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
• Facilitate group activities and discussions to promote socialization and community building.
**Requirements**
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation.
