Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration: Provide BAU support for our application, including investigation of business logic in PL/SQL, and ensure the smooth operation of our database systems.
  • Release Management: Raise release tickets and coordinate with various teams for database patches on weekends, ensuring minimal disruption to our services.
  • Database Migration: Lead the migration of our application to AWS/RDS, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal downtime.
  • Performance Tuning: Perform database performance tuning and monitoring to optimize system efficiency and scalability.
  • Database Design: Take ownership of database code/design and implementation, ensuring it meets our business requirements and industry standards.
  • Technical Support: Interface with production DBA, SA teams for technical support, resolving issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with PM team for Geneos monitoring and Autosys scripts and scheduling setup, ensuring our systems are aligned with business objectives.
  • Database Activities: Responsible for database activities including data copy, database security, database troubleshooting, and ensuring our systems are secure and compliant.
  • Technical Expertise: Possess very strong skills in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL, as well as good knowledge in Linux and experience creating shell scripts.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience in AWS/RDS and creating Jules builds for database deployment is a plus.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of database systems and data warehousing concepts.
  • Excellent technical skills in SQL, PL/SQL, and Linux.
  • Experience with database migration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
