Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Lawn Specialist to join our team at TruGreen Limited Partnership. As a Commercial Lawn Specialist, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our residential and commercial customers by making timely lawn and landscape applications, diagnosing and correcting lawn and landscaping problems, and selling and upselling services to new and existing customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lawn and Landscape Applications: Apply fertilizers and other products to lawns according to customer programs, safety procedures, and label instructions. Care for sod plants and grass seeds as needed.
  • Problem Resolution: Evaluate and diagnose lawn problems, and resolve service issues accordingly.
  • Scheduling and Time Management: Efficiently manage your schedule, keeping in-branch time to 30 minutes or less in the morning and 45 minutes or less in the afternoon, and working within route analysis specifications.
  • Sales and Customer Service: Sell, cross-sell, or up-sell Full Program Equivalent services or otherwise generate sales to current customers through contact on route.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with customers through handwritten customer notes, Tru-Trak, production reports, new sales and customer invoice forms, daily vehicle inspection reports, and cancel/skip notices.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Perform a daily three-minute, 360-degree inspection of your truck and equipment before taking the vehicle out on the road and upon return, and maintain vehicle and equipment through cleanliness, safety, and general maintenance.
  • Additional Responsibilities: May measure the lawn of potential customers to provide them with an accurate cost of TruGreen's lawn care service, may drive company vehicles to commercial customer locations, and may assist in maintaining facility cleanliness.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma/GED or 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training in horticulture and/or customer service or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Attainment of license and/or certification may be required according to federal, state, or local government regulation.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to sit or stand, walk on uneven surfaces or climb stairs for an extended period of time, use hands and arms to handle, feel or reach, speak and hear, use vision abilities for close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus, lift up to 50 lbs independently, push and pull equipment. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
