The RN Charge Nurse plays a pivotal role in ensuring that residents receive exceptional care that enhances their overall physical, mental, and emotional well-being. This is achieved through thorough assessments and tailored care plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular rounds to observe, assess, document, and report on resident conditions and any changes.
  • Ensure that care plans are implemented effectively as directed.
  • Administer prescribed medications accurately and timely.
  • Collaborate with physicians during rounds and maintain accurate clinical records of visits.
  • Perform narcotic reconciliations during shift changes.
  • Identify and respond to significant changes in resident conditions in accordance with facility protocols.
  • Supervise and support nursing aides in their duties.
  • Complete Incident and Accident Reports as per facility guidelines.
  • Manage resident discharges following established procedures.
  • Prepare Nursing Assessments for physician consultations regarding changes in resident conditions.
  • Communicate effectively with residents' points of contact regarding updates or changes in care.
  • Engage in special projects or additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Nurses or Administrator.
Qualifications:

Education: Completion of an accredited RN program from a vocational school, college, or university.

Licensure: Must hold an active Registered Nurse license in Texas with a good standing.

Experience: Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
