Maintenance Technician for Large Apartment Community

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing maintenance work on the property, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other related tasks. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to interact with residents from all age groups and cultural backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately diagnose and solve problems with cost-effective, long-term solutions.
  • Perform maintenance work on the property, which may include electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other related tasks.
  • Coordinate and monitor the quality of maintenance work being performed by outside contractors.
  • Adhere to mandatory on-call rotation requirements for emergency repairs or maintenance issues.
  • Ensure a prompt response to all service requests, including emergency situations.
  • Work consistently and remain engaged throughout the entire work shift.
  • Assist with daily inspections of community grounds and interior, immediately addressing deficiencies to ensure the community is safe, clean, and comfortable for residents, team members, and guests.
  • Complete all required trainings, meetings, and programs.
  • Interact well with residents from all age groups and cultural backgrounds.
  • Maintain standards for staff uniforms, dress codes, hygiene, and appearance for property staff.
  • Show up on-time and ready to work for all shifts.
  • Provide advanced notice when an absence is needed.
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all forms of communication, including email, phone calls, video calls, and text messaging.
  • Conduct regular inspections of property, including vacant space, and report and address suspicious activity or potential security issues.

Position Requirements:

  • General knowledge of electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and customer service to interact with team and residents.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to change tasks quickly and frequently.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and move sizable weights.
  • Able to work for long periods of time on feet.
  • Able to work in confined spaces.
  • Able to work for long periods outdoors.
