Job Overview

Carpeteria Carpet One Floor & Home, a 3rd generation family-owned flooring company, seeks a skilled Flooring and Design Project Manager to join our team in San Diego. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, driving sales growth, and ensuring seamless project execution.

About the Role

  • You will be responsible for managing multiple projects from start to finish, including interacting with customers to determine their flooring needs, measuring rooms, calculating estimates, and presenting selections to clients.
  • You will work closely with our design team to provide expert advice on interior design and decoration, ensuring that our customers receive the best possible solutions for their homes.
  • You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing orders, and communicating effectively with customers and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Greet customers on the sales floor and qualify them to help determine the best floor for their lifestyle and needs.
  2. Assist customers with their flooring choice through decorating and design advice.
  3. Appointment setting and driving to customers' homes.
  4. Measuring and layouts of room diagrams for customers and projects.
  5. Calculating estimates and presenting selections to clients.
  6. Writing sales orders and processing the necessary paperwork for that order.
  7. Works with the customer from beginning to end of the sale by communicating in a timely and professional manner with customers on all requests or concerns.
  8. Following up with your customer after completion of the job.
  9. Using a computer database to research the availability of merchandise and to process orders.
  10. Maintain showroom by keeping samples and displays neat, current, and clean.
  11. Stay up to date on the wide selection of products we offer, along with specifications and warranties provided by each.
  12. Works effectively with other employees.
  13. Provide a high level of customer service.
  14. Networking regularly in the community.
  15. Building client relationships.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated and internally driven to excel in your position and career.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and be willing to learn our operating system.
  • Must have access to reliable transportation to get to work and to visit customers' homes.
  • A passion for or experience with decorating or design.
  • Must be willing and able to attend some off-site training.
  • Must have open and flexible work availability to include some weekends.
  • Retail sales experience is a plus but not required.
  • Professionalism, includes dependability, accountability, and punctuality.
  • Time management skills for juggling multiple (and sometimes competing) deadlines and deliverables.

Salary Estimate

$65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
