Job Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team at Saxon Global. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development and a passion for delivering high-quality software applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, test, and support software applications using Java
  • Participate in design sessions with architects and produce low-level designs as necessary
  • Collaborate with other engineers to deliver new capabilities and coach and mentor team members as needed
  • Quickly and effectively troubleshoot problems in development and production environments
  • Review code and designs from other team members and provide suggestions for performance improvements
  • Coordinate with product owners and business partners to gather requirements and document them as needed
  • Provide production support and be an active team member of on-call rotation

Requirements:

  • Strong expertise in Java development (3-7 years)
  • Experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines is a plus
  • Experience in Bash scripting/Linux system administration is also a plus
  • Any search engine experience (especially Elasticsearch) is a plus
  • Experience using Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ or any messaging broker is a plus
  • Advanced task estimation and planning skills
  • Able to perform tasks with little or no technical supervision
