Responsibilities

As an Environmental Services Technician (EVS) at CHI Health, you will be part of a team dedicated to ensuring the safety of our employees, patients, and visitors by maintaining a clean and sanitized environment. Success in this role requires an understanding of the significance of sanitation and disinfection processes. You will have complete control over your workspace, where the choice of processes and supplies is crucial. Your commitment to cleanliness reflects our dedication to caring for the community.

We provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure your safety while you contribute to the safety of others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform cleaning and disinfection of patient, ancillary, and public areas as assigned, adhering to established protocols.
  • Operate manual, battery-powered, and electric cleaning equipment, such as mechanical floor cleaners and vacuums, ensuring proper maintenance and storage.
  • Collect, manage, and dispose of designated waste streams and soiled linens according to prescribed guidelines.
  • Complete both stat and routine cleans of discharge rooms.
  • Identify and report maintenance or refurbishment needs through work orders.
  • Inspect EVS equipment for cleanliness and necessary repairs.
