Job Summary:This is a 13-week contract position with a night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), every other weekend, and 36 hours/week. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric nursing and a Massachusetts RN license.
Responsibilities:- Float to various mental health units throughout the hospital, including Pediatric, Adult, and Geriatric Psychiatric Units.
- Manage patients with a wide range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis patients undergoing treatment.
- Administer care to some medically acute patients, including those requiring IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care.
- Work with different clinician-to-patient ratios: Pediatric Psych is 1:3, Adult and Geriatric Psych is 1:7 or 1:.
- Perform admissions and discharges efficiently.
- Engage in continuous learning and training, including AVADE and lead EKG training.
- Maintain knowledge of state Department of Mental Health rules and regulations.
- Participate in floating to all behavioral health areas within designated units.
- Ensure compliance and documentation using EPIC charting system.
