Position Summary:

The individual will oversee all logistics and receiving functions, including the management of finished products, customer surplus inventory, and packaging materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transmit daily customer shipping records and incoming packing documentation to the finance department.
  • Confirm that the quantities produced meet the customer order requirements; if not, inform the Expeditor of any shortages.
  • Identify appropriate packaging for shipping items to and from external services, adhering to operational guidelines to ensure safe delivery to customers.
  • Analyze shipping statements from UPS, FedEx, and local couriers to manage shipping costs effectively.
  • Prepare products ahead of the scheduled shipping date to avoid last-minute issues.
  • Examine purchase orders for external services and packaging supplies to ensure proper closure.
  • Timely adjust surplus items into inventory.
  • Ensure the accuracy of surplus and finished goods inventory records.
  • Verify details and quantities for non-stock or special order products.
  • Responsible for the accurate shipping of all items, including correct packaging, counts, and necessary documentation.
  • Receive products, verify quantities in the ERP system, and report any discrepancies to the purchasing department.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized shipping and receiving area.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service on daily shipping needs.

Additional Duties:

  • May participate in special projects and related tasks as needed.
  • May assist in various operational areas when required, including supporting accounting with inventory counts.
  • May be tasked with compiling reports and tracking data.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in logistics or receiving.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Outlook for communication with customers, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Familiarity with custom software for freight carriers such as UPS and FedEx.
  • Basic arithmetic skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
