Mechanical Engineer 3

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Teledyne FLIR LLC. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing mechanical and controls systems, with a strong understanding of ASME Y14 standards and design for manufacturability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for creating fabrication and assembly drawings, tolerancing, and interpreting electrical schematics for troubleshooting and design purposes. They will also develop proposals, test reports, and customer presentations, and interface with technicians and customers to ensure specifications are attainable and verified.

Key Responsibilities:
- Creating fabrication and assembly drawings IAW ASME Y14 standards
- Tolerancing and design for manufacturability
- Interpreting electrical schematics for troubleshooting and design purposes
- Developing proposals, test reports, customer presentations, design specifications, etc.
- Interface with technicians to ensure specifications are attainable and verify compliance
- Interface with customers in technical working groups
- Estimate labor hours, track actuals, and coordinate scheduling with other project managers
- Troubleshooting complex systems from sensor data and log files
- Creating bills of materials for new designs and tracking materials during fabrication
Qualifications:
- Previous professional experience with high purity compressed air, cryogenic cooling, high vacuum, nuclear detectors, and industrial controls
- US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance
- Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately +/-10%
