Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting a sense of belonging and well-being.
  • Assist with simple treatments, such as administering medication and providing wound care.
  • Document resident care and progress, maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Participate in onboarding, annual, and in-service training, as well as team member meetings, to stay up-to-date on company policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Meet state or provincial health-related requirements.
  • Maintain any certification as required by state or provincial regulations.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, grasping, manual dexterity, stooping, kneeling, crouching, vision acuity, talking, and hearing. The weight determined to be appropriate for a Personal Care Assistant to lift with or without reasonable accommodations is up to 50 lbs.

Exposure Risk Classification:

May perform unplanned tasks involving exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissue which may contain AIDS, HIV, and Hepatitis A, B, and C viruses.
