About the Role:
The Chicopee Public School District is seeking a highly skilled Behavior Interventionist to join our team. As a Behavior Interventionist, you will play a critical role in supporting students with behavior issues, working closely with school administration, teachers, and other staff members to develop and implement behavior intervention plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with school administration and staff to identify students with behavior issues and develop targeted interventions.
- Provide behavioral support to students, including individual and group sessions, to help them develop skills and strategies for managing their behavior.
- Work with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement behavior intervention plans, including creating and implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Assist with data collection and analysis to inform instruction and intervention.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged in the student's progress.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology.
- LICSW, LMHC, or LCSW with a strong mental/behavioral health background preferred.
- License by the Massachusetts Department of Education as a School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor (Levels: All) or BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
The Behavior Interventionist will work in a school setting, with frequent interactions with students, parents, and staff.
