Machinist Technician

At Allied Valve Inc, we are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, arranging, and maintaining production machines to ensure efficient and high-quality production.

• Set up production machines according to prints and specifications, including lathes, grinders, mills, and other equipment.
• Choose, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and other materials on machines.
• Apply mathematical knowledge and instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances.
• Identify malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls to correct errors.
• Inspect and measure completed production units to identify defects caused by machine setup.
• Start or restart equipment after power outages or interruptions.
• Maintain a safe and organized production area.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of experience as a fully qualified machinist required.
• Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
• Thorough understanding of production equipment and ability to quickly learn new systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain and read all measuring tools.
• Pass a yearly skills test.

• Associates degree in Manufacturing/Technical Programming; OR completion of a full apprenticeship program; OR successful completion of suitable company training required.

• Physical ability to operate and repair machines.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, and stretching.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
• Ability to carry equipment up and down flights of stairs.
