We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sanitation Specialist to join our team at C.H. Guenther & Son. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our food manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Sanitation Procedures: Develop and implement thorough cleaning and sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify sanitation issues or areas requiring maintenance, and monitor cleaning supplies and equipment inventory.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant food safety and sanitation regulations, including FDA, USDA, and HACCP standards, and stay up-to-date on regulatory updates.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including cleaning schedules, inspection reports, and sanitation logs, and assist in preparing documentation for regulatory inspections and audits.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality assurance teams to coordinate sanitation activities with production schedules and promote a culture of cleanliness and food safety awareness.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in sanitation procedures and participate in training sessions and continuous learning opportunities to stay updated on best practices in sanitation and hygiene.
- Education/Certifications and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in food safety or sanitation preferred. Previous experience in sanitation, preferably in a food manufacturing or processing environment.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation best practices, ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision, strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Work involves daily and frequent exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness and/or poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity.
- Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks and hazards, such as working around mechanical equipment, mechanical hazards, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives hazards, communicable diseases.
- Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office, warehouse, and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis.
