POSITION OVERVIEW

The Motor Assembly Technician plays a crucial role in the production and assembly of electric motors, contributing to various tasks that ensure the quality and functionality of the final product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Motor Assembly: Execute the assembly of diverse motor types by accurately interpreting technical documents such as specification sheets and assembly diagrams. Engage in precision assembly tasks and larger unit constructions as necessary. Fabricate components and structures in accordance with specifications, utilizing tools such as drills and calipers. Maintain accurate serial identification and traceability records while ensuring the correct parts are selected for assembly.
  • Motor Testing: Conduct all essential mechanical and electrical tests following established procedures. Adhere to safety protocols during testing and operate various testing equipment. Complete quality assurance documentation to verify that motors meet specified testing criteria.
  • Painting Operations: Prepare components for painting by ensuring they are clean and free from contaminants. Employ appropriate masking techniques and mix paints according to specifications. Utilize mist spray methods to achieve optimal coverage while minimizing overspray.
  • Winding Operations: Select the appropriate wire based on winding specifications and manage inventory effectively. Insulate and load components into winding machines, executing programs as required. Perform necessary tests to confirm readiness for subsequent processes.
  • Sub-Assembly Tasks: Participate in various sub-assembly operations, including motor encapsulation and varnishing, ensuring adherence to established guidelines and procedures.
  • Core and Magnet Processing: Engage in core preparation tasks such as bonding and stacking laminations, as well as performing magnet assembly operations, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Commutation Device Assembly: Assemble components for commutation devices, ensuring precision and quality through the use of specialized tools and techniques.

Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and handoff of completed tasks within the assembly process.

Qualifications
