Residence Life Resident Advisor

East Carolina University is seeking a Residence Life Resident Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Campus Living team, you will be responsible for building relationships and creating a welcoming environment for residents in our residence halls.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Facilitator: Be available and visible to residents, know names of residents, build relationships with members of their floor, address community conflicts, and encourage personal responsibilities.
- Referral Agent: Know hall, campus, and Greenville resources to connect residents as appropriate, keep the supervisor informed with floor/resident happenings, document incidents and follow protocols set out via training and the staff manual.
- Team Member: Attend all training sessions and staff meetings, support staff team, help when needed, maintain positive communication with staff and all Campus Living employees, assist with RA recruitment, and support Campus Living events.
- Programmer: Produce programs to help connect residents and educate on various topics, complete appropriate paperwork, meet program requirements set by the department, and support Residence Hall Association and Hall Involvement Teams.
- Administrator: Complete all necessary paperwork/forms/evaluations/tasks as required by department and Hall Coordinator, attend staff meetings and 1 on 1's, serve in on-call duty rotation, help with Hall Closings/Openings/Special Events, and know the staff manual protocols.
- University Representative: Serve as a positive role model, serve the needs of residents, be mindful of social media tags/posts, and represent CL and ECU positively on- and off-campus.
- Safety/Security Agent: Serve on-call duty rotation, maintain confidentiality as appropriate, ensure that the building is secure, participate in fire drills/alarms, manage conflicts, address policy violations and document situations as appropriate.
Requirements:
- Current GPA 2.5 or greater
- Good Standing with student conduct
- 1 semester (or 4 months) of community living or minimum of 4 months living in a military barracks or equivalent
