Special Education Paraeducator - Highly Qualified
Full Time 184 days/6.5 hrs/day school year

Responsibilities:
Support the educational development of students with disabilities in inclusive, resource, or specialized settings.

Key responsibilities may include:

- Assisting in behavior management (redirecting, calming, or safely removing students when necessary)
- Monitoring and documenting student progress in various instructional areas (academic skills, daily living skills, social interactions, etc.)
- Addressing physical needs (assisting with toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, and transporting students in wheelchairs, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Personal Care Assistant certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Candidates should have completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or possess an associate degree (or higher) from an accredited institution or have passed the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam. (Documentation will be required)
Strong communication, interpersonal, and recordkeeping skills. Proficiency with technology and computers is preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively with students and staff. Capacity to supervise students and follow directions. Consistent attendance is required, including completing assigned shifts.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.

Ability to fulfill job responsibilities, including physical tasks, handling materials, managing data, and interacting with individuals, which may involve assisting with personal care, implementing behavioral management strategies, maintaining student records, and working with students who may exhibit challenging behaviors.

Must be physically present in the educational environment.

Compensation:
$18.00/hour, or negotiable based on qualifications and experience in K-12 settings. $19.60/hour for candidates with an AA/AAS degree or 60 semester/90 quarter credits from an accredited institution, or negotiable based on K-12 experience.
$20.40/hour for candidates with a BA degree from an accredited institution, or negotiable based on K-12 experience.

Special Education Paraeducators working with Center-based students for 50% or more of their time will receive an additional $0.50 per hour.
Special Education Paraeducators at designated centers will receive an additional $1.00/hour.
*Candidates must have completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or obtained an associate's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution or have passed the ParaEducator or ParaPro exam. (Documentation will be required)

Insurance benefits are available for positions of 6 hours or more per day.
