Job Description
As a Tax Accountant at Wabts Financial And Tax Advisors, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our tax compliance and planning efforts. Your duties include preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring adherence to tax regulations, and providing strategic advice to minimize tax liabilities. You will stay updated with the latest tax laws and industry trends through continuous professional development, participation in industry organizations, and engagement with professional networks. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex tax regulations and financial statements in a clear and concise manner.

Responsibilities
• Prepare accurate tax schedules and tax returns from supporting documents (income statements, balance sheets, and third-party tax statements)
• Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings
• Ascertain that clients comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Prepare workpapers, government forms, and properly document business activities to prepare annual tax returns
• Research tax laws and stay current on potential tax liabilities in various industries and understand Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in accounting with at least 2–5 years of experience in taxation and accounting
• Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret and apply tax laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain complex tax regulations and financial statements in a simple manner
• Proficiency in using tax and accounting software (e.g., Pro-Series, Turbo Tax, QuickBooks, SAGE, NexGen)
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet specific deadlines, with sound time management skills

Compensation Package
The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000-$85,000 annually, commensurate with experience. We also offer opportunities for professional growth and development through ongoing education and training.
