Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Medstar Washington Hospital Center as a Travel Nurse RN. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a top-ranked hospital and gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in the PACU setting, ensuring a safe and efficient recovery process for patients.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the unique needs and goals of each patient.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identify potential complications, and take prompt action to prevent or mitigate them.
  • Administer medications, perform procedures, and utilize specialized equipment as needed to provide optimal patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in the field.
Requirements
  • Current DC license and two years of experience as a Registered Nurse in the PACU setting.
  • Ability to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a focus on patient safety and quality care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including day and evening hours, with up to two weeks of evening shifts per six-week schedule.
