TLC Nursing is in search of a skilled Travel Nurse RN specializing in the Electrophysiology Lab for an exciting travel nursing opportunity.

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse in Electrophysiology (RN EP) is responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to patients undergoing procedures aimed at diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. This role requires collaboration with electrophysiologists, cardiologists, and the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient assessments and review medical histories. Educate patients and their families about the procedure, including potential risks and post-procedure care. Ensure informed consent is obtained and administer pre-procedural medications.
  • Intra-Procedure Responsibilities: Assist electrophysiologists during various procedures, monitor patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms, and ensure the proper functioning of lab equipment.
  • Post-Procedure Responsibilities: Monitor patients in recovery, provide education regarding care instructions, and manage post-procedural medications and wound care.
  • Patient Education: Offer education on heart rhythm disorders and treatment options, while providing emotional support to patients and families.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient care activities, adhering to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care and participate in multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on advancements in electrophysiology and cardiac care, participating in continuing education and maintaining required certifications.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in critical care, cardiac care, or electrophysiology; prior EP lab experience is preferred.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required; certification in Electrophysiology is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and proficiency with EP lab technology.
