Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Carbon Materials Research Scientist to join our team in Detroit-MI, Cambridge-MA or Houston-TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research and development of new carbon materials and technologies, as well as providing technical support and advice to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Design and conduct experiments to develop new carbon materials and technologies">
  • Analyze data and results to identify trends and opportunities for improvement">
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and partners">
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize research projects">
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and provide technical guidance and support to our clients">
  • Perform other duties as required">

Requirements:

">
  • ">
  • Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field">
  • At least 9 years of experience in a research and development role, preferably in the field of carbon management technologies">
  • Strong understanding of carbon management technologies, including carbon capture, conversion, storage, and transport">
  • Experience with material synthesis, polymer chemistry, structured sorbents, surface chemistry, method development, experimental design, separation/adsorption processes, materials characterization and/or testing techniques">
  • Strong track record of scientific publications and intellectual property development">
  • Proficiency in using equipment for materials screening at the lab-scale and conducting advanced testing in pilot plant environments">
  • Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills">
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a project team">

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000-$160,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.

Work Environment:

">

The job requires frequent travel to meetings, seminars, and vendor offices in Dhahran, Houston, and throughout North America. The work environment is typically performed at an assigned global research center in Detroit-MI, Cambridge-MA or Houston-TX.
