Job Summary

Safely operate a heavy-duty truck to perform assigned duties on residential routes. Collaborate with route managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle and report any issues to the route manager.
* Immediately report any unsafe situations or service calls to the route manager or dispatch before attempting service;
* Participate and cooperate in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required by the route manager;
* Work closely with route managers to improve route efficiencies and identify problem or unsafe accounts;
* Perform all duties as scheduled by the route manager or dispatch, assisting other company drivers as directed;
* Notify the route manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage;
* Notify dispatch or the route manager of issues as prescribed by the service machine protocol, including blocked containers, potential missed pick-ups, or problems that arise on the route;
* Communicate customer requests or issues to dispatch or the route manager;
* Completely dump all containers and leave the customer's location clean and free of debris;
* Complete and submit customer tickets when excess yardage must be removed;
* Position containers on the customer's property in a manner that ensures lids are properly replaced, containers are set in an upright position, and containers do not block driveway entrances or traffic;

Requirements

* Education: None required;
* Commercial Driver's License (CDL) B;
* Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review;
* Acceptable driving record required;
