Job Description

This role requires a Transportation Specialist to conduct standardized knowledge and skills examinations for non-commercial and Commercial Driver License applicants. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of motor vehicle operation, road rules, and customer service principles.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct on-road examinations to evaluate the skill and competence of applicants safely and courteously.
  • Determine physical conditions and driving qualifications of applicants and mechanical condition of vehicles in conformance with established guidelines and standards.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of vehicles and check motor vehicles for inspection stickers, lights, windshield wipers, and other mechanical features to ensure safety.
  • Administer CDL and Non-CDL knowledge examinations and evaluate applicants' ability in practical demonstration of motor vehicle operation and observance of the rules of the road.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Driver License Examiner Assistant or two years of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
  • An active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C Driver's License and twenty-one years of age at the time of application.
  • No suspensions or revocations of a driver's license during the five-year period immediately preceding employment.
  • An active unrestricted Class M driver's license within the first six months of employment.
  • A Commercial Driver License with P and N endorsements, no restrictions E, L, N, O, or Z.
  • Meet PA residency requirement.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a Fingerprint and Name-Based Criminal History Check prior to employment.
Benefits:
  • Full-time employment, 80 hours bi-weekly.
  • Work hours are 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Tuesday - Saturday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime and travel required.
  • Estimated salary range is $60,000 - $70,000 per annum based on location and experience.
