Key Responsibilities
The Chemical Laboratory Technician is responsible for gathering, assessing, documenting, and interpreting chemical analysis results to support the Quality Control Laboratory. This role involves conducting a range of tests to aid in product innovation and various specialized projects as needed. The technician will analyze the composition, reactions, and physical or chemical characteristics of both organic and inorganic substances. Additionally, they will enhance and refine methodologies, apparatus, and formulations, as well as prepare mixtures and solutions for testing purposes.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related scientific discipline, along with a minimum of 2 years of pertinent laboratory experience in analyzing test outcomes.
- Strong communication abilities, encompassing both written and verbal skills.
- Proficient computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to ascend 5-10 flights of stairs repeatedly.
- Capability to climb ladders (multiple rungs) both fixed and portable.
- Endurance for overhead reaching, bending, squatting, and twisting motions.
- Capacity to maintain prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
- Able to lift approximately 50 lbs and maneuver tools/equipment with ease.
- Willingness to work in various outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.).
- Ability to walk unassisted on diverse surfaces (gravel, concrete, asphalt, grating, dirt).
- Proficient in verbal communication via radio.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (hard hat, eye protection, face shield, hearing protection, gloves, chemical suits, steel-toed shoes, fall arrest).
