About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in an acute care setting, with some outpatient coverage available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Confirm and interpret physician referrals, and perform patient assessments to develop individualized treatment programs.
  • Provide patient care based on physician referral and age-appropriate assessment, taking into consideration the patient's developmental and medical diagnoses.
  • Coordinate patient care and clinical activities through written and verbal communication with patients, families, therapists, and other healthcare team members.
  • Document patient care in the medical record and complete other patient care-related forms in compliance with regulatory agencies and departmental policies.
  • Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants and collaborate with other therapy staff, support staff, and students to achieve efficient clinical activity and quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy.
  • Licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia by the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
  • AHA BLS-certified within six months of employment.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills.
