Job Title: LPN - Fish Center Medical Specialties

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Fish Center Medical Specialties in Chestnut Hill. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will be accountable for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the attainment of important goals for our patients, practice, and organization.

Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in direct and indirect nursing care, health maintenance, patient instruction, collaborative planning, and rehabilitation as within scope of practice and consistent with education and training.
  • Develop relationships with patients, families, and colleagues, functioning as an interdisciplinary team member who provides quality patient care and contributes toward the attainment of important goals.
  • Administer medication as ordered by a licensed independent provider (LIP) or a Registered Nurse (RN), according to established policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine tests, including electrocardiograms, vision and hearing screening, and the collection of specimens for laboratory testing and point-of-care.
  • Participate in team-based care and patient education initiatives to support the health and wellness of patients in conjunction with the LIP/RN.
Clinic Operations:
  • Perform a variety of tasks, including those facilitated by Medical Assistants and administrative staff, which have an effect on the overall operations of the unit.
  • Appropriately utilize organizational resources, including management of time, supplies, equipment, and other assets.
Skills/Abilities/Competencies Required:
  • Knowledge of practice operations and standards.
  • Intermediate/advanced knowledge and use of medical terminology.
  • Ability to accurately perform vital signs and obtain pertinent health information.
  • Ability to administer medication, routes of administration may include injections, intravenous, and oral medications.
  • Ability to participate in the medication reconciliation processes and related prescription management tasks.
