We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team at Northwestern University. The successful candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, neuroscience, microbiology, molecular biology, and/or physiology.
Research FocusThe research focus of this position is to investigate the impact of the microbiome on pelvic pain and cognitive function in clinically relevant models. The candidate will work closely with our team to design and conduct experiments to define microbiota-microglia interactions in pelvic pain and cognitive dysfunction.
Responsibilities- Perform experiments to define microbiota-microglia interactions in pelvic pain and cognitive dysfunction
- Write initial drafts of manuscripts and assemble figures, edit manuscripts and figures, and assist in submission for publication
- Write text and assemble figures for grants
- Supervise students and other technicians working in the lab and provide administrative assistance
- Participate in departmental and school activities, including seminar series and journal clubs
- PhD or MD with research experience in biochemistry, neuroscience, microbiology, molecular biology, and/or physiology
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Experience with laboratory mice and computer skills
