The Athletic Trainer plays a crucial role in supporting the Head Athletic Trainer in the oversight and management of the Athletic Training Department. This position is integral to ensuring the well-being of student-athletes in relation to their athletic pursuits. The Athletic Trainer will serve as the secondary authority in sports medicine, with specific responsibilities assigned by the Assistant AD – Sports Medicine. Responsibilities will include designated sports, with one position focusing on baseball and the other on football and track and field.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in the daily management of the athletic training facility.
- Conduct evaluations, provide treatment, and facilitate rehabilitation for athletic injuries.
- Act as a liaison with academic departments regarding student and graduate assistant matters.
- Support the Head Athletic Trainer in evaluating athletic training staff.
- Maintain accurate medical records for student-athletes.
- Supervise Graduate Assistants in their training and responsibilities.
- Coordinate coverage for summer athletic camps.
- Teach up to six semester hours, if applicable.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
As a member of the Athletic Department, adherence to all relevant NCAA regulations is mandatory. Violations may result in disciplinary actions as outlined in NCAA enforcement procedures.
Qualifications:- A Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine, Physical Education, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- BOC certification is mandatory.
- Eligibility for, and possession of, a Kentucky license is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and the community.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Strong organizational skills are essential.

Compensation:The hourly rate is competitive, with additional compensation based on qualifications.
