The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is seeking a dedicated Gynecologic Oncologist Faculty member to enhance its esteemed Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology in collaboration with the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute. This role is designed for an Assistant or Associate Professor specializing in Gynecologic Oncology, contributing to a well-established division that serves a diverse patient population across urban, rural, and underserved communities.
Practice Highlights:
UAMS stands as the sole academic medical center in the state, providing a unique opportunity to engage with a broad spectrum of gynecological cancers. The division boasts a new phase 1 clinic, participation in cooperative and NRG(GOG) group clinical trials, and access to three DaVinci robotic systems with dedicated operating time. The team comprises three physicians and three advanced nurse practitioners, all supported by state-of-the-art clinical facilities at the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
Our comprehensive services include radiation oncology, a dedicated gynecologic pathologist, genetic counseling with onsite testing, and both inpatient and outpatient palliative care services. UAMS also hosts a fully accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology, with plans to develop a gynecologic oncology fellowship in the near future. Successful candidates will have the chance to engage in the education of residents and medical students.
Institutional Commitment:
The Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute is recognized as Arkansas' only academic cancer treatment and research facility. With strong backing from the State Legislature and the UAMS Chancellor, we are progressing towards becoming the state's first cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute. UAMS is also acknowledged for its commitment to diversity, being nationally ranked on the Forbes magazine Best Employers for Diversity list.
Qualifications:
- MD/DO degree from an accredited institution (or equivalent)
- Completion of a gynecologic oncology fellowship program
- ABOG Board certified or Board eligible candidates are encouraged to apply
