About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at Maricopa County Correctional Health Services. As a Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to patients in the county jail system.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessments and implement appropriate nursing interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
- Monitor patient progress and evaluate outcomes to inform care decisions.
- Perform standard nursing procedures, including administering medication and addressing pharmacological needs.
- Complete and process all required documentation, including plans and discharge planning, in a comprehensive and objective manner.
- Provide health-related education to patients as needed.
Working Conditions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies.
- Ability to get on the floor to perform CPR/chest compressions, push medical equipment, climb stairs, and lift patients on a gurney that may weigh up to 35 pounds.
- Will be assigned to various clinical locations in the Phoenix area within a 5-mile radius.
Requirements
- Valid, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse issued by the Arizona State Board of Nursing or issued by another state recognized by the Arizona Board of Nursing as a multi-compact license state.
- Two or more years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical/Surgical, ER, Urgent Care, or Psychiatric setting.
