Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified English Language Arts Teacher to join our team at GateWay Early College High School. As an instructional team member, you will develop and implement Arizona standards-based lesson plans to enhance the affective and cognitive development of students. You will work collaboratively with college staff to develop improved articulation between high school and college curricula and develop learning experiences. You will also advocate, nurture, and sustain a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, secondary education, or a related field.
OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

One (1) or more years of experience working in an educational setting.
One (1) or more years of experience with Arizona State Standards or National Standards.
One (1) or more years of experience with research-based instructional teaching strategies.
One (1) or more years of experience working with a diverse population of students.
One (1) or more years of experience with and utilizing student assessment tools/software to enhance student success.

Special Working Conditions

Local travel required to attend conferences, training, and field trips.
May require some evenings or weekends.
May be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs.
Requires some evenings for parent & student events.
May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen.
