Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at the City of Louisville, KY. As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, overseeing the work of Pharmacy Technicians, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and oversees the work of Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Prepares and dispenses medications by reviewing and interpreting prescriptions written by medical providers, checking for therapeutic incompatibilities.
  • Counsels patients and answers questions regarding their medications.
  • Interacts with medical and nursing personnel regarding medications.
  • Dispenses FDA-approved methods of contraception.
  • Verifies the prescription preparation and labeling conducted by the Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Verifies the order entries, charges, and inspections conducted by the Pharmacy Technicians.
  • Administers immunizations and other injectable medications.
  • Conducts patient health screenings.
  • Formulates clinical decisions regarding medication therapy based on the current guidelines.
Requirements
  • Doctorate degree in Pharmacy OR Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and four years of experience as a pharmacist in a community/retail pharmacy.
  • Possession of an active license in good standing to practice Pharmacy in the state of Kentucky.
  • Possession of an immunization administration certification.
  • Possession of a Naloxone certification.
  • Ability to provide own transportation to work at other locations as needed.
  • Ability to work extended hours as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a community/retail pharmacy setting.
  • Experience with 340B outpatient pharmacy operations.
  • Completion of an ASHP or ACCP PGY1 accredited residency.
  • Fluency in Spanish for communication with Spanish-speaking patients.
