Position Overview:

The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for acquiring goods and services in accordance with departmental and organizational guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procures goods and services following company policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with management to ensure optimal inventory levels.
• Assesses vendors based on pricing, reliability, capability, and past transaction history.
• Negotiates volume and cash transaction discounts with vendors, along with other available savings.
• Ensures all purchasing documentation is complete, accurate, and includes appropriate terms and conditions.
• Maintains records of pricing histories and vendor information.
• Performs additional duties as required.

Required Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Proficient time management skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines.

Position-Specific Skills:

• Comprehensive understanding of purchasing protocols and policies.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education and Experience:

• Associate's Degree in Business is preferred.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar role is required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Travel Requirements:

Travel will primarily be local during standard business hours.

Physical Demands:

• Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
