Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at UCLA Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population, working collaboratively with clinic management, administration, faculty physicians, and other clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and phlebotomy.
  • Work with the healthcare team to coordinate and prioritize tasks and protocols established by the department.
  • Recognize and report abnormal signs and symptoms of life-threatening emergencies.
  • Perform phlebotomy, CPR, injections, and other skills within the scope of practice.
  • Take vital signs, administer medications, and obtain drug refills as needed.
  • Recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, Windows computer function, and ability to use computerized patient care systems.
  • Maintain a cooperative working environment with physicians, staff, and all health providers.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
  • Active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification.
  • Possession of BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
  • 6+ months of LVN experience.
