About the Position
As a Post-Anesthesia Care Nurse, you will play a crucial role in the recovery of patients following surgical procedures. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional care in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), ensuring that patients transition smoothly from the operating room to recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive post-operative care to patients recovering from anesthesia.
- Monitor and assess vital signs, manage pain levels, and address any discomfort experienced by patients.
- Collaborate effectively with anesthesia providers and the surgical team to facilitate a seamless recovery process.
- Educate patients and their families on post-operative care, including potential complications and recovery expectations.
- Maintain meticulous patient records and documentation, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Active RN license.
- BLS certification (and any additional certifications as required by the facility).
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in PACU nursing.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
