The job entails various physical activities including sitting, speaking, standing, bending, reaching, and the capability to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds. Vision requirements encompass both near and far sight, color differentiation, and peripheral awareness.

Work Conditions:
Individuals in this position may encounter moving mechanical components, varying weather conditions, and moderate levels of noise.

Employment Classification: Non-Exempt

Reporting Structure: This position reports to Supervisors and Dispatch personnel.

Job Objective: To ensure the safe and punctual transportation of students to and from school and related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate effectively with educators, administrators, parents, and staff to implement behavior management and transportation plans
  • Promote safe and appropriate conduct among students
  • Adjust to evolving circumstances to accommodate student needs
  • Engage positively with students and exemplify suitable behavior
  • Uphold the confidentiality of student information
  • Participate in required training sessions
  • Conduct daily pre-trip vehicle inspections, manage vehicle systems, adhere to traffic laws, and follow operational directives

Employment Terms:
School Transportation Operators will be engaged for a nine-month period, with compensation and work schedule determined annually by the governing educational body.

Performance Assessment:
Job performance will be reviewed by the immediate supervisor utilizing the Transportation Performance Evaluation criteria.
