JOB SUMMARY

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for executing diagnostic imaging services by capturing radiographs, which are images produced by directing x-rays through specific areas of the body. Responsibilities may encompass patient positioning, image acquisition, and film processing. This role operates under the supervision of a radiologist or physician.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Completion of an accredited Radiology Program recognized by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) or an equivalent program. Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or a similar credential is required.

LICENSURE

Must hold a current and valid state license, if applicable, along with certification from AART.

EXPERIENCE

A minimum of one year of experience as a radiologic technologist in a clinical environment is required.

CREDENTIALS

CPR certification as mandated by the facility; completion of health and screening assessments as required by specific healthcare facilities or regulatory bodies.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work may occur in various healthcare settings, with potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to ATC policies and procedures.
  • Follows client facility protocols and guidelines.
  • Accurately documents all services rendered.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Effectively communicates necessary information to relevant personnel.
  • Upholds ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
  • Administers or assists with the administration of contrast media as required, adhering to legal guidelines.
  • Conducts radiological tests as assigned, in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Initiates emergency protocols as per facility guidelines.
  • Provides patient care in a respectful, non-discriminatory manner, considering cultural diversity and individual rights.
