Job Summary:

Lincare Inc. is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team in a long term care setting. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for administering respiratory therapy care to patients with abnormalities and deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review patient information and physician prescriptions to assess patient condition and determine requirements for treatment.
  • Determine suitable treatment administration and modifications that may be needed, compatible with physician orders.
  • Set up and operate devices, including mechanical ventilators, nebulizers, and/or compressors.
  • Monitor patient response to therapy via vital sign and blood chemistry changes.
  • Consult with physicians in the event of adverse reactions.
  • Inspect and test respiratory therapy equipment to ensure it is functioning safely and efficiently.
  • Order repairs when needed.
  • Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees.
  • Perform staff education at customer facilities.
  • Perform tracheostomy tube changes.

Requirements:

  • Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner license.
  • Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
  • Previous related work experience.

Physical Demands:

The employee may frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
