We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Staff Psychologist to join our team at the Veterans Health Administration. As a Staff Psychologist, you will play a critical role in providing mental health services to our nation's veterans.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a full range of psycho-diagnostic services, including assessment and treatment planning.
- Conduct evaluations for a wide range of patients, representing diverse diagnostic entities.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans, utilizing empirically supported approaches.
- Consult with medical center staff on patient care issues.
- Enter patient visits, clinical documentation, and measure outcomes to interventions.
- Meet productivity standards and ensure timely completion of clinical documentation.
- Provide education to veterans and family members on relevant mental health and substance use concerns.
- Ensure adherence to facility and national risk management policies for assessment, management, consultation, and documentation related to suicide/homicide risk.
- Comply with all Service Line documentation requirements, including timely completion of prescribed templates for documenting results of assessment, treatment, and risk evaluation contacts.
- Serve as part of the On Call Team, providing coverage to the Emergency Department, facilitating admission to the mental health inpatient unit, and conducting daily treatment rounds on the inpatient unit during non-business hours.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Must have a doctoral degree in psychology from a graduate program in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA), the Psychological Clinical Science Accreditation System (PCSAS), or the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).
- Must have a full, current, and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
- VA experience preferred.
- Understanding of Behavioral Interdisciplinary Program (BHIP) within the VA.
