Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personal care services to patients.
- Implement safety protocols and proper body mechanics while performing personal and supportive care tasks.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals, assisting with feeding as needed.
- Conduct homemaking and other environmental services as assigned.
- Monitor, report, and document any changes in patient status, communicating with the primary nurse as necessary.
- Follow detailed personal care instructions prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the care plan.
- Assist patients with prescribed exercises as directed by nursing or therapy staff.
- Perform and document basic urine tests as required.
- Complete other assigned duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current state certification as a nurse assistant in accordance with state requirements.
- Experience as a CNA within the last two years; if more than two years have passed, completion of a training and competency program is required.
- Ability to successfully pass the competency evaluation of the care center.
- Current CPR certification.
