An Intern Pharmacist under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist performs various tasks, including preparing and dispensing drugs, filling prescriptions, reviewing patient charts, and participating in treatment team meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepares and dispenses drugs and pharmaceutical preparations
- Fills prescriptions and reviews patient charts
- Participates in treatment team meetings and provides ongoing consultation
- Maintains unit dose system and keeps records of drugs, poisons, and narcotics
- Assists in the preparation of estimates and requisitions for drugs, sundries, and chemicals
Working Conditions:
This position requires ongoing interaction with Pharmacy Staff, Providers, Health Services Specialists, Registered Nurses, Vendors, and Program and Unit Staff. The Intern Pharmacist must possess and maintain sufficient strength, agility, endurance, and sensory ability to perform the duties contained within the Duty Statement.
Special Requirements:
- Background Investigation clearance prior to being hired
- Medical Clearance prior to being hired
Application Requirements:
Submit a completed standard state application (STD. 678), a copy of degree/transcripts, Intern Pharmacist license, and proof of application as a candidate with the California State Board of Pharmacy to take the Pharmacist licensure examination by the final filing date.
