Position Overview

We are currently in search of a Medical Imaging Specialist to become a vital part of our team. The Medical Imaging Specialist at Hospitality Health ER is responsible for providing care to a diverse patient population, including neonates, infants, children, adults, and seniors. This role demands a commitment to delivering skilled and compassionate care while ensuring the comfort and dignity of each patient.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate imaging equipment to generate radiographs (X-rays) for diagnostic evaluation, as directed by the Radiologist.

2. Position patients correctly on the examination table and adjust immobilization devices to achieve optimal imaging results as requested by the physician.

3. Maneuver imaging equipment into designated positions and modify equipment settings to establish exposure parameters, utilizing knowledge of radiographic techniques and protocols.

4. Implement radiation safety measures, employing beam restriction devices and patient shielding techniques to minimize exposure for both patients and staff.

5. Collaborate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, patients, and their families, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of the role.

6. Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues, patients, and their families.

7. Maintain a high level of professionalism in all aspects of job performance.

8. Adhere to the guiding principles and policies established by Hospitality Health ER.

9. Complete the required skill assessments for the ER/Radiology technician role, demonstrating proficiency in necessary skills to assist nursing and medical staff.

10. Laboratory Duties:
  • Conduct laboratory tests and report results as assigned by the Laboratory Director.
  • Perform tests in accordance with the Laboratory Procedure Manual.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Procedure Manual.
  • Collect appropriate specimens from patients, ensuring accurate identification.
  • Label specimens at the patient's bedside to ensure proper tracking.
  • Prepare patients for specimen collection using age-appropriate communication.
  • Package specimens for transport to reference laboratories.
  • Follow all laboratory safety protocols and procedures.
  • Execute quality control measures and document as per the QC Policy.
  • Calibrate laboratory instruments as outlined in the Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Ensure all laboratory instruments are maintained according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Keep laboratory safety equipment in optimal condition to ensure effectiveness.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of laboratory work surfaces.
  • Ensure all laboratory records are kept in accordance with the Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Make laboratory records available for inspection by authorized personnel.
  • Order necessary laboratory supplies to prevent interruptions in service.
  • Adhere to all directives in the Laboratory Policy Manual.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in radiologic/imaging roles.
  • Experience and training in CT imaging.
  • Certification as a Registered CT Technologist.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Valid State licensure from the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development in the field of radiology.
