Job Summary:

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Mexico is seeking qualified temporary part-time faculty members to teach undergraduate classes in various disciplines. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of any class they are teaching, including meeting with the class during assigned times, delivering the course curriculum, developing and grading assignments, reporting grades, and assessing student learning outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate classes in Mathematics and Statistics
  • Develop and grade assignments
  • Report grades and assess student learning outcomes
  • Meet with the class during assigned times
  • Deliver the course curriculum

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or higher in Mathematics or Statistics or a related field
  • Or Master's degree or higher in a field other than Mathematics or Statistics that is related to the position
  • Or Successful completion of at least 18 graduate credit hours in an accredited program in the discipline or subfield

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years professional experience in the specialization or subfield
  • Earned doctorate from an accredited institution
  • Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution
  • Successful experience teaching courses using a variety of teaching modalities
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success
