Job Title: CO-Level II NICU and Postpartum RN

At RN-Staff, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the NICU and Postpartum department. As a CO-Level II NICU and Postpartum RN, you will be responsible for providing expert, individualized nursing care to patients and families in the NICU and Postpartum units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily patient flow to optimize patient care, safety, and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate ability to triage incoming patient requests for services.
  • Deliver patient education to facilitate plan of care, employer informed healthcare choices, and promote optimal wellness.
  • Demonstrate ability to delegate care appropriately and according to Colorado statute.
  • Demonstrate competent healthcare assessment skills, prioritizing skills, and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrate ability to handle high telephone volume of patient requests for medications, information, and assistance.
  • Administer medications, perform treatments, and assist in procedures as needed; consistently adhering to patient safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate patient care with other physician practices, Vail Health, and others as needed to achieve the highest possible level of patient care and satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Deliver excellent service by utilizing Relationship-Based Care to advocate for safety, patient preferences, and optimal communication through partnering with patients and families.
  • Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.
Requirements:
  • One-year clinical experience required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Colorado or from a valid compact state required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
  • Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Minimum of Associate Nursing Degree for positions hired after 07/01/2018.

Nature and Scope:

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the functions of this position. Communicates effectively, clearly, and timely. The incumbent must be able to come to work promptly and routinely in order to begin the job functions at the start of the scheduled shift to impact the patients' healthcare experience. Ability to care for oneself; perform manual tasks; see, speak, breathe, learn, read, concentrate, think, communicate, and work are essential to perform this role in the organization. Ability to work under stress and to deadline while working (independently or) with others. This position does provide patient care.
