Job Summary

The Security Officer is a critical role within CommonSpirit Health, responsible for ensuring the safety and security of patients, staff, and visitors across our facilities. As a Security Officer, you will be the first point of contact for individuals in need of assistance, providing a high level of customer service while maintaining a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to calls for assistance in a timely and professional manner, addressing violent or unruly situations, crimes in progress, and other security-related incidents.
  • Patrol facilities and grounds, monitoring security alarms and dispatching officers as needed to maintain a secure environment.
  • Investigate security breaches, conduct follow-up investigations, and write incident reports to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Log all activities in a daily log to accurately record events and complete clear, concise, and legible reports in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum 6 months of experience as a security officer in a hospital or healthcare setting, or 1 year of experience as a security officer.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 3 years of experience as a security officer.
  • Current driver's license issued by the state wherein the position is posted, with a satisfactory DMV report on file, or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Current state-issued security officer license showing no disciplinary actions, and workplace violence training annually.
  • American Heart Association CPR/BLS Certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • International Association of Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training for Healthcare Security Officer within 90 days.
