Respiratory Care Clinical Supervisor

Welcome to an exciting opportunity to join our respiratory care team as a Clinical Supervisor at Wellstar Health System, Inc. in Cobb Hospital.
OverviewAs a Respiratory Therapist Lead CH NF, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing the daily activities of an assigned shift using independent judgment to assure successful and safe delivery of care. You will facilitate onboarding and precepting under the guidance of your direct lead, serving as a clinical resource/support to staff, physicians, patients, families, and other departments by providing direct patient care, medication administration, and ensuring equipment resources and function. This role may require the duty of a patient assignment, promoting and executing PI initiatives, assisting with data collection and analysis of PI activities, customer service, and safety and quality initiatives for designated shifts.
Responsibilities- Leadership and Collaboration
You will lead the shift, assuring delivery of safe patient care by analyzing patients' needs and skill competency level of personnel when making patient assignments. You will facilitate interdisciplinary communication and planning to ensure timely care delivery, including discharge. You will communicate with your direct leader about any needs or concerns pertaining to patient care delivery or employee performance, assist in evaluating staff, providing input to your supervisor regarding clinical performance, teamwork, etc., of individuals. You will assign shift workload and preceptors, maintain financial stewardship in relation to productivity, and maintain daily equipment function and calibration.
- Innovation and Customer Care
You will provide resources and support by monitoring equipment inventory, location, and utilization to ensure staff have tools and equipment needed to perform their job. You will assist in acquiring appropriate staffing levels, provide clinical assistance to staff as necessary, assist with orientation & training for new employees and student clinical rotations, assist with annual skill competencies, communicate educational needs of staff (i.e., huddles, new equipment or knowledge in-services for RT staff), and maintain staff education records.
- Professional Development
You will maintain current knowledge related to patient population to deliver the highest standard of care, identify learning needs of workgroup and communicate needs to your direct leader, and demonstrate excellence in respiratory care practice by promoting process improvement and committee participation.
- Exemplary Practice & Quality Outcomes
You will round on patients to evaluate quality and appropriateness of patient care, including corrective action when needed utilizing peer coaching and 200% accountability. You will demonstrate excellence in Respiratory Care practice by providing the highest standard of direct patient care and participate in implementation and monitoring of PI, customer service, and safety and quality initiatives to improve patient care delivery.
Qualifications- Education
A graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy education program (CoARC or CAAHP) with minimally 20 quarter hours of science is required. An Associate's Degree (Must have completed at least 100 credit hours towards B.S degree) is also required, while a Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
