MRI Imaging Specialist

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Highmark Health. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing prescribed MRI imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. You will competently perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative.
Key Responsibilities:
• Positions patients and performs imaging procedures
• Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results
• Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results
• Reviews patient history and physician's orders
• Educates patients regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient understanding and cooperation
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice
• Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate
• Prepares equipment and supplies
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary
Requirements:
• Associate's Degree; or Certification from a technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or an American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) certification
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Certification is required within 18 months of hire
• CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience working as a MRI Technologist
• ARRT (MR) certification
