Avionics Technician

As an Avionics Mechanic in the Army National Guard, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing complex electrical systems on aircraft. This includes performing operational and preventive checks, troubleshooting equipment, and inspecting and maintaining electrical systems. You will also learn how to perform maintenance on tactical communications-security, navigation, and flight control equipment.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform operational and preventive checks on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics, and controlled cryptographic equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment using technical manuals and schematic drawings
• Inspect and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, electrical connections, and the repair and/or replacement of instruments
Requirements
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate
• Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
• Must meet citizenship requirements
