Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Equipment Mechanic to join our team at the California State Government. As an Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical systems, including engines, fuel systems, and transmission systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Repair Mechanical Systems: Use advanced diagnostic techniques to identify and repair complex mechanical issues, including engine problems, fuel system malfunctions, and transmission system failures.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication, to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
  • Inspect and Repair Equipment: Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential issues and perform repairs as needed.
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other maintenance personnel to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Technical Training or Certification: A technical training program or certification in a related field, such as heavy equipment repair or mechanical engineering, is highly desirable.
  • 2+ Years of Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field, such as heavy equipment repair or mechanical maintenance, is required.
